2017 – 2018 ACADEMIC YEAR COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS

Fr. Charles Ssenyondo (PhD)

The academic year 2017 – 2018 was inaugurated with an academic address presented by Fr. Charles Ssenyondo (PhD), who is a professor of Theology at St. Mary’s National Seminary Ggaba. Fr. Charles expounded on the idea of relativism in our Christian era and his presentation was focussed on providing possible answers to the writers who present anti-religious ideas and paint a picture of a post-Christian era in which we live. The professor sought a theologian and a theology that address these contemporary questions about Christianity; he chose Joseph Ratzinger, the best contemporary theologian to represent the Catholic perspective and Stanley Hauerwas to represent the Protestant perspective. The seminarians were able to relate the points raised by Fr. Charles with their own pastoral and formational experiences.”
